First of all, thank you for all you do for your students and the community. Because you do so much, we really want to help!

“Free stuff?! Like what?”

Our mission is reuse, so while we do receive some donations of new surplus items, the majority of our inventory is used. We have a constantly changing selection of:

  • art materials
  • office supplies
  • decor
  • books
  • building materials
  • teacher resources
  • furniture
  • and all sorts of stuff that can be repurposed for STEAM projects.

We also have a collection of theatre items available to borrow!

While we may not have exactly what you need right now, we may be able to find it later, or help you figure out something we do have that you can use instead. Let us know about special projects, events or lessons planned. We love to help brainstorm materials!

“Do I qualify?”

- Educators: We provide free materials to all staff currently employed at any accredited public or charter school regardless of location. Please bring your school ID badge or other proof of employment (such as an email offer letter or contract) with you. You will register in-person on your first visit. You do not need to register beforehand.

Staff at nonprofit private schools that file an annual 990 form also qualify. (Nonprofit private school educators ONLY - please register HERE before visiting to verify your school's eligibility.)

All materials received must be for use only at the school you work at, not for personal use, resale, or use at a different school or organization.

- PTA/PTO: The PTA/PTO at any accredited public, charter, or eligible nonprofit private school may request a membership card HERE to receive access to shop at Welman on behalf of the school. One card will be issued per organization, and the card must be shown at each visit.

- Nonprofits & Government: Staff of 501(c)3 organizations that file an annual 990 form, and staff of government entities, may apply HERE for access to free materials for use at their organization. (No personal use or resale.) Please apply for membership before scheduling an appointment.

- Due to funding limitations, we are unable to give materials to for-profit schools or companies, home school educators, or to anyone for personal use by themselves or their family.

By accepting materials from The Welman Project, you agree that they will only be used for the benefit of a qualifying organization, and will not be used or sold for personal gain. Violation of this agreement will result in revocation of your membership.
